Learn the art of sewing by experimenting with materials and basic sewing machine skills while creating fun fabric projects.  This class is designed to give students an introduction to sewing, machine safety, basic stitching, and fabric arts.  Students will create a handful of fun fabric projects that challenge their artistic abilities.  Your student is expected to use machines and sharp tools in a safe way and be able to follow directions.

Each student will have the opportunity of creating 3-4 projects throughout the multi day/week long course.

Examples of projects:

~ Reading Pillow

~ Animal Plushie

~  Lavendar eye mask

~  Market tote bag

Lisa started her sewing journey at the age of 8 in a summer camp much like this. Sewing quickly became a lifelong passion, which led to studies in fashion design and pattern making and a career in the apparel industry. Looking to inspire the next generation of makers, this course is designed to add knowledge and expand their skill set.

Camp is held Wednesday afternoons from 12:45-3:00pm

Register with Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation.
